The Multicultural Urban Secondary English program at U.C. Berkeley prepares candidates to teach English to both native speakers and second-language learners in secondary schools, with an emphasis on the state's multicultural, multilingual classrooms.

Alicia started her teaching career at Burton Academic High School in San Francisco. She accepted a position at Burlingame High School shortly thereafter.

Karen Lauritsen

Karen taught at Hayward High School. She now lives in Los Angeles and works in the Arts Department at UCLA Extension.

Aura lives in San Francisco and teaches 7th grade at Edendale Middle School in San Lorenzo.

Amanda lives in Oakland and completed three years of teaching English at Oakland Technical High School. She is now a teacher at Castro Valley High School.

Cindy Winship

Cindy taught English and Spanish for two years at El Camino High School in South San Francisco.  She has taken a leave of absence to stay home with her children.
