Directed and Produced by Karen Lauritsen
Karen's decision to document her first year as a high school English teacher was inspired by her fear of impending isolation. She was excited about the thoughtful and intelligent people she had met in the MUSE program, but was warned by professors and veteran teachers that the demands of teaching would soon overwhelm their lives. The documentary was a way to stay connected with her cohort and understand what they were going through.
This is her first documentary.
